DON KING DAYS INFORMATION

2014 marks the 26th year for Don King Days.  Held every year on the Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend, Polo, Steer Roping and Bronc Riding headline two days of excitement in the wide open spaces of the Big Horn Equestrian Center located 12 miles southwest of Sheridan, Wyoming.

All DKD activities begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and Monday.  Admission is $10 per adult, children under 12 are free.  Food and refreshments are available on the grounds but we welcome you to set up your tailgates, too.

The World Championship Blacksmiths Horseshoeing Contest returns as a companion event during the Labor Day weekend. The contest begins Saturday, August 30th and continues through Monday.  The best blacksmiths in the World are scheduled to perform their craft.

Sunday and Monday will feature live music for your enjoyment.  Paul Bogart and his band will begin at approximately 5:00 pm each evening.

Don King Days is considered the grand finale of summer fun.  The event began when local ranchers and rodeo cowboys came up with the idea to hold an event to celebrate the traditions unique to the Sheridan area and to symbolize the diversity of equestrian activities that are a part of the area heritage.  We invite you to come enjoy these traditions that have made Don King Days such a popular event for the whole family.  See you there!!
